Bank executive offices, Milan
A new workplace in a historic building
The design for ABC BANK’s new offices sits within Milan’s historic architectural setting, with the aim of establishing a balanced dialogue between memory and contemporary design.
The project goes beyond a simple functional upgrade. It creates a distinctive spatial identity that reflects the bank’s values: solidity, transparency and a commitment to the quality of the working environment.

Material and light
The choice of materials is guided by a desire to create warm, welcoming environments without compromising a professional and carefully considered appearance.
Wall surfaces in shades of beige and warm taupe interact with natural wood flooring, helping to create a bright, relaxed atmosphere. Timber elements — furniture, light wall panelling and details — bring a domestic quality that softens the formality typical of executive offices.
Both natural and artificial light are treated as design materials: diffused and never harsh, they shape the perception of the rooms and highlight their depth and proportions.

Transparency and connections
Glazed partitions with black frames define a system of flexible, permeable spaces, where transparency creates visual connections between rooms.
Workspaces, meeting rooms and informal areas are designed as parts of a continuous whole, allowing individual and collaborative work to coexist without rigid hierarchies.

Spaces for everyday use
Every room is designed to be used and experienced daily: books, objects, plants and work materials create an authentic atmosphere, far removed from a sterile or purely representational image.
All furniture is newly supplied and selected for ergonomics, functionality and aesthetic consistency, maintaining a balance between comfort and a professional image.

Informal areas and wellbeing
Particular attention is given to spaces for breaks and encounters, such as the break area, conceived both as a place to unwind and as a setting for informal exchange.
Here, more expressive elements — botanical wallpapers and timber surfaces — reinforce the sense of welcome and encourage a freer, more dynamic use of the space.
A distinctive identity
The result is a contemporary workplace that enhances the historic character of the building while embracing a modern design language.
ABC BANK is represented through spaces that do more than function: they express a way of working that is open, thoughtful and focused on quality.
